The research field “Applied Geophysics” of the Geophysical Institute is a vital member of the Wave Inversion Technology (WIT) Consortium which was established in Karlsruhe in 1997 by Peter Hubral. WIT is now directed by Dirk Gajewsky at the University of Hamburg. The WIT is a widely know research consortium formed by three integrated work groups: the Applied Seismics Group at University of Hamburg, Germany, the Mathematical Geophysics Group at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, and the Applied Geophysics Group at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.
For more information on the WIT research groups, news, the WIT research focus, sponsors and publications we refer to the official WIT Homepage.
