Instrumentation

The Geophysical Institute has a variety of modern instruments for both field and laboratory measurements. The instruments are used for training purposes as well as in research projects.

The most commonly used equipment in seismology are the KArlsruher BroadBand Array (KABBA), and the 72-channel seismic apparatus with vertical geophones, horizontal geophones, and three-component geophones.

Other types of equipment used in the geophysical courses includes sensors which are used for both electric and magnetic measurements.
