Mohsen Koushesh started his PhD in seismology at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in August 2015.  Developing a new seismic event detector called A6DMSD (Adaptive 6-Dimension-search Multi-station Seismic-event Detector) has taken the most part of his attention during the PhD period, to extract as much as possible new local microseismic events from the gathered DEEP-TEE (Deep Eifel Earthquakes Project) seismic dataset. Joint to the detector-output and VELEST-program-input formats, a monitoring platform in Matlab is developed for phase picking, covering the basic and advanced net-wide waveform analysing tools. Cooperation in seismic station installation/service, plus calibration of the long period seismometers and data loggers in KIT-GPI lab have developed him on the technical side of seismology and field work management.
