Abstract
The presentation discusses the need to know the seismic source signature in relation to seismic data processing – especially inversion – and seismic data interpretation – especially the use of a zero-phase wavelet. I focus on the determination of the source time function by measurements for three sources: marine air guns, land vibrators, and explosives, including underground nuclear tests.
