Abstract

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a widely used geophysical technique for subsurface
imaging and characterization. Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) has emerged as a
powerful technique for high-resolution subsurface imaging. However, due to the high
computational cost, 2D FWI is still preferred in development environment. My thesis
will perform 2D FWI for field GPR data to obtain the relative electrical permittivity and
conductivity model. This result will be combined with other materials to define the
Ettlinger trench surface.
