Abstract

Abstract: The complex and diverse slip behavior observed at the Ecuadorian subduction zone revealed a significant lack of knowledge regarding a reliant seismic velocity model which takes into account the highly heterogeneous crustal structure. In the framework of the HIPER project, a large active seismic measurement in the greater subduction zone area was done in 2022. The objective of the thesis is to perform a 2D seismic travel time tomography along several shot profiles and discuss different structural features.
